*Metal Casino Review Update* – We are excited to say that Metal Casino is back live in the UK under new management and is accepting British players. We’ve updated our review with more information on what’s changed.
Metal Casino is an online casino that launched in 2017 on the Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) platform. It is particularly unique due to its design as the world’s first online casino for metal/rock fans. However, this wasn’t just a tagline or gimmick, as actual rockstars – such as Scott Ian, Ryan Roxie, and Ozzy Osbourne – signed up to be brand ambassadors. Therefore, it’s truly unique compared with other casino sites, which is not at all easy to do these days.
In October 2020, it was announced that Metal Casino had switched gaming platforms from GiG to SkillOnNet. While this technically makes Metal Casino one of the new online casinos again, SkillOnNet is a solid platform with years of experience. They operate many successful brands, so we didn’t expect the original quality and uniqueness of Metal Casino to be lost. However, there are a few changes that players in the UK should know about, which we outline in this review.
Metal Casino review in a nutshell:
- NEW: Powered by SkillOnNet as of October 2020
- PayPal payments
- 1000+ library of slots and games
- High wagering
- MetCoins and Merch Room removed
Opening an account at Metal Casino isn’t hard (no pun intended). Simply fill in the form with your email, phone number, password, address, age and a couple of other little things to get started.
Metal Casino Bonus
Metal Casino has the following casino deposit bonus available for UK players once they’ve signed up:
- 100% up to £50
- + 50 free spins
Bonus Terms & Wagering
The above Metal Casino bonus has the following significant terms and conditions attached:
- First Deposit Only
- Min. deposit: £10, max. Bonus £50
- Game: Book of Dead, Spin Value: £0.1
- WR of 30x Deposit + Bonus amount and 60x Free Spin winnings amount (only Slots count) within 30 days
- Max bet is 10% (min £0.10) of the free spin winnings and bonus amount or £5 (lowest amount applies)
- Spins must be used and/or Bonus must be claimed before using deposited funds
- Deposit/Welcome Bonus can only be claimed once every 72 hours across all Casinos
The standout term is the wagering requirements which are unfortunately quite high. For the free spins, they are x60 (x40 or lower is better). For the casino bonus, the wagering is set at x30 for both the deposit + bonus (wagering just for the bonus is better).
There’s also the term that players can only claim one deposit/welcome bonus at all SkillOnNet casinos within 72 hours. Again, this isn’t exactly ideal as it means players have to remember not to sign up at different sites too quickly. Overall, the terms and wagering combine for one of the rare blots on our Metal Casino review rating.
N/A – No Metal Casino bonus codes are needed for the above offer.
Metal Casino Free Spins
As stated above, you can get free spins at Metal Casino as part of the offer. You will be handed 50 of them when you make a first deposit. At the time of this Metal Casino review, they can be used on the Book of Dead slot.
Metal Casino Promotions
Before SkillOnNet took over, Metal Casino had some pretty cool promotions. They ran standalone offers, had a VIP program in the form of a stadium tour, and allowed players to collect MetCoins. These could be exchanged for casino bonuses or even some real-life rock merchandise. This included memorabilia like Megadeth’s David Ellefson’s signed guitar.
However, it has been confirmed that MetCoins and merchandise have been removed since the new partnership with SkillOnNet started. This is slightly disappointing as real-life memorabilia was a truly unique prize that no other casino could offer. However, it was, of course, difficult to get and was mostly reserved for high rollers. We will wait to see what replaces MetCoins and merch before updating our Metal Casino review rating.
Although Metal Casino’s payment methods were never bad when using the GiG platform, they have been given one mighty upgrade. They are now one of the acclaimed PayPal casinos in the UK! Players using this method can expect instant deposits and fast withdrawals from one of the safest financial providers on the internet.
Alongside PayPal, there are the usual payment methods like Visa, Mastercard, Trustly, Neteller, Skrill, Paysafecard, and MuchBetter. The minimum deposit amount is £10 and all deposits are credited to your account instantly.
Metal Casino Withdrawal Times
The time it takes for you to get a withdrawal from Metal Casino is usually between 24 and 48 hours. That’s because all payouts need to be approved by them first. In some cases, the time may be extended if additional checks need to be done – such as with high payouts or first-time withdrawals.
Once a withdrawal has been approved, Metal Casino will payout based on the timescale of your chosen provider:
- PayPal: Instant
- Skrill/Neteller: Instant
- Trustly: 1 banking day
- Debit Card: 3-5 banking days
There is a minimum withdrawal amount of £20.
Metal Casino Games
Gamers can play over 1000 different titles at Metal Casino. These games include slots, video poker, jackpots and a pretty cool live casino. You can easily search through the full list or use the filter to find exactly what game to play.
All their games are provided through the partnership with SkillOnNet. Their games are regularly tested by iTech Labs, an independent authority that checks casino games for fairness. You can find this certificate on Metal Casino’s website in the footer.
Metal Casino can easily be played on mobile using your smartphone or tablet’s web browser. There is no need to download an app.
Almost all of the features available on desktop will be available for mobile too. The only change is that some old games may not be compatible with mobile devices due to the use of older technologies. All new game releases are available on mobile.
Security & Safety
After originally launching on the GiG platform in 2017, Metal Casino made the decision to switch to SkillOnNet in October 2020, as reported by CasinoBeats. SkillOnNet is a very experienced gaming platform provider who are in charge of several good casinos, such as PlayOJO (see our PlayOJO review).
Of course, it also helps that Metal Casino have recruited some of the biggest names in Metal as brand ambassadors. Ozzy Osbourne, Scott Ian (Anthrax), Gary Holt (Exodus), David Ellefson (Megadeth), Dregen (Backyard Babies) and Ron Thal (Guns ‘N Roses) have all gone to bat for Metal Casino, putting their reputation on the line for this very brand.
Due to the takeover, the licencing has changed. Metal Casino now operates on SkillOnNet’s UK Gambling Commission licence for players in Britain. For other regions, they use a Malta Gaming Authority licence.
At the time of this Metal Casino review update, the UK licence was completely clean – with no recorded sanctions or other penalties.
Players can receive help by contacting live chat or sending an email. The live chat function is only available from 6am until midnight, so you may need to wait if you have any late night game sessions.
Although there’s no complete list, players from the US, American Samoa and Guam are not eligible to play. However, there is likely to be other regions too, so we suggest taking a look on their website.
UK players are eligible.
Metal Casino review by Casino Professor
Metal Casino has been given a bit of a revamp behind the scenes but it’s not lost any of its charm.
Fans of metal and rock will love the references and theme, while the casino is very good too – including a monster library of games.
The wagering requirements for the bonus could certainly be lower, while it will be a big task to replace prizes like MetCoins and real-life rock merchandise with something as good. But rather than enduring something similar to second album syndrome, Metal Casino’s latest release is more of the same quality.
If you give do give them a spin, please let us know what you thought by leaving a Metal Casino review below. Good luck!
